Prosecutor: Man assaults, robs woman walking near Bridgewater church

Authorities in Somerset County are looking for a man accused of robbing and assaulting a woman walking near a church.
The county prosecutor says the robbery happened near Blessed Sacrament Church on Washington Valley Road in Bridgewater on Sunday. They say the incident happened just before 10 a.m.
The victim says that while she was walking on the path behind the church, a man came up behind her and placed his hands over her eyes and mouth. She told police they struggled and both fell to the ground. The thief stole her phone and ran away.
Officials say the victim ran after the suspect and saw him get into a dark SUV and drive away.
The suspect is described as a light-skinned male, about 5 feet, 5 inches fall with an average build. Officials say he is in his 30s or 40s, and was seeing wearing a button-down short-sleeve shirt, white T-shirt, shorts and a hat.
Officials say the victim’s phone was found nearby.
